At Oxygen Acres everyday is earth day. We are trying to do our bit to conserve and protect our planet for future generations. By incorporating a few earth friendly methods we are determined to leave behind a clean, green piece of earth with our venture.
Renewable Energy: We have successfully connected our 35 cubic meter biogas plant to 15 KVA Kirloskar generator in order to generate electricity. With the current capacity of our biogas plant, we can run the generator for five to six hours a day. And our cheese unit is powered by 2 KWH Solar Energy with a storage capacity of 14 KWH per day. Proud to be energy independent!!!
Soil Care: As easy as it is to dump chemical fertilizers and pesticides to grow highly profitable produce, the harm that we are causing is irreparable. At Oxygen Acres, we avoid using chemical products unless it is absolutely necessary. We replace chemical substances with cow urine and cow dung. Even though this practice is less profitable and more work, it is worth the effort in the long run.
Health Care: Adulteration and chemical contamination are huge issues plaguing the dairy industry. Modern day cow feed which is the choice of most farmers is laced with chemical milk enhancers. At Oxygen Acres we feed our cattle what our ancestors fed them, natural feed. Quality natural feed ensures your health as well as the cow's.
Green Care: We take pride in conserving our trees and planting more. To substantiate our claim, we have planted a variety of fruit trees, flowers and shrubs. Our heritage tree is a major inspiration for conservation enthusiasts. Our effort is to grow more than 500 different varieties of trees on our farm to provide bio-diversity.
Ground Water Care: No chemicals, no contamination. It's that simple.
Air Care: It is widely believed that cows are responsible for methane pollution in the environment. We reduce the emission of methane by allowing our cows to graze in open fields and covering the cow dung with soil. Research has proved that these two methods significantly reduce methane emission.
Plastic Scare: Did you know that it takes a million years for plastic to disintegrate once discarded outdoors. Oxygen Acres is a plastic waste free zone. We are constantly looking for ways to replace plastic with recyclable or bio-degradable material.
Chemical Scare: There isn't such a thing as a good chemical. We are constantly reviewing our cleaning procedures to adopt natural cleaning agents. Our commitment is to replace these chemicals with natural substances.
Recycling: At Oxygen Acres, food, sewage and all other wastes are naturally treated and left to disintegrate in deep pits. Over time it becomes part of the soil structure. Absence of harsh chemicals makes this process soil friendly and keeps the environment pollution free.
Construction Methods: By partnering with NIE CREST, we have adopted environment friendly construction methods such as arch foundation, mud stabilized bricks and re-enforced roofing. All the above mentioned methods save material needed for construction.
